• Dry malt extract
• Corn syrup
• Peptone, bacteriological
• Wide mouth quart jars with LC lids (see below)
• Stir bar

 

LC Lids

Plastic lids with silicone seal ring, self healing injection port, and PTFE syringe filter (13mm 22um)

Drill two holes in the lids: ½ inch bit for SHIP, 5/32 inch bit for PTFE filter

Push the SHIP and PTFE filter in and seal from bottom with high temp silicone, wait 24 hours to dry completely before use. 

 

Process

• Add 500 ml water into a jar with LC lid (see below)
• Add 12 ml / 20g corn syrup
• Add 1 gram of dry malt extract
• Add 1 gram of peptone (soy)
• Add stir bar
• Pressure sterilize for 25 minutes at 15 psi (turn off stove at 20 minutes, open valve at 0 psi if using All American)
